The Kellerman Book Matrices

In October 2003 John Kellerman released Vintage Star Wars Action Figures: A Guide For Collectors - a hardcover, 256 page, full-colour book covering a variety of vintage collecting topics. The book also contains two incredibly detailed but work-in-progress matrices that attempt to catalogue all known Kenner US Front-Back and Proof Card combinations.

Rebelscum.com is pleased to have partnered with John Kellerman to create the “Kellerman Book MatricesEsection. Here collectors can download updated PDF files for both the Front-Back (F-B) Combinations and the Proof Card matrices found in John’s book. To get the most out of this section and for in-depth definitions of the language used in the F-B and Proof Card matrices, collectors should refer to Chapters 3 and 7 respectively in “Star Wars Vintage Action Figures: A Guide For CollectorsEwhich can be purchased directly from the book’s Official Website.

To help complete the matrices, collectors are encouraged to send submissions to John though the site email located on the Got News page

Submission Guidelines:
In order to ensure that each submission is accurate we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines when submitting photos.

  • For a new F-B combination where there is only one Front for a Back and vice versa, only a clear photo of the card front is required. Example: 7ESB-47A

  • For a new F-B combination where multiple Backs exist for a single Front (i.e. Front 2ROTJ can have three Backs: 65A, 77A or 79A) the card must be clearly photographed using a mirror with the front and back together. Please see the photo below for an example.

Example

  • No proof cards will be accepted for the F-B Combinations Matrix. Please follow the above guidelines when submitting an entry for the Proof Card Combination matrix.

  • No foreign cards will be accepted. For example, unusual F-B combinations have been found in Australia on US card fronts and backs but these items were not produced for use in the United States.

  • We reserve the right to decline any photos of items we feel are suspect or tampered with.

With your continued help the Kellerman Book Matrices will be one step closer to completion!

Poll
What if Hasbro were to offer a new line of larger scale figures that put a focus on screen accuracy? The Probe Droid is curious if you'd walk away from the 3 3/4" line in favour of something new that catered more to adult collectors.
I'd be willing to start from scratch.
I'd be into it only if they were super articulated.
I'd only be into it if sculpt and silhouette were the main focus.
I might get a few, but I don't think I'm ready to start something new.
I'm only interested in 3 3/4" figures.
I don't collect the Hasbro stuff.
